These are some of the scenes and sounds from the last hearing at the Supreme Court of Pakistan amid brewing conflict between the Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandiyal and the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. A three judges bench headed by Chief Justice had invited politicians for an unprecedented judicially supervised political dialogue for a co census on an election date across Pakistan. The apex court has already ordered for elections in Pakistan’s largest province of Punjab but the government refuses to release funds for the same saying elections to all the four provincial and National Assemblies be held on the same day – that is in October when the term of other assemblies also expires.
