A detailed reasoning released on Monday night about Supreme court’s earlier short order, which requires president to announce election date for Punjab, has deepened the controversy on whether the order was by majority of 4 to 7 or 3 to 2. This was a verdict never accepted by the federal government on the grounds that four of the originally 9 judges bench had rejected the petitions seeking elections in Punjab, while two judges had abstained and 3 had accepted the petitions.
