A three judges bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Chief Justice Umer Atta Bandiyal on Friday rejected as unconstitutional a parliament made law that provided right of appeal against decisions of the Supreme Court. The extraordinary power coined as suo motto power of a chief justice had caused political turmoil in the country as apex court invoked these to make or break governments. Constitutions article 184(3) provides for supreme. Kurt to directly intervene in matters of enforcement of human rights and public importance, something allegedly abused by the judges to favour Imran Khan who was disgraced out of office after a successful vote of no confidence in the parliament last year. A three judges judgement came a day after parliament completed its five year term for next elections and was unable to respond to the verdict.
