In a devastating interview conducted by journalist Shahzeb Khanzada the former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has reluctantly confessed to his being a politically impotent and incompetent prime minister due to various reasons. Khaqan replaced Nawaz Sharif in 2017 when the later was disqualified by the supreme court in a controversial corruption case. During his tenure a religious group protested blocked main highway to capital Islamabad resulting in a damning judicial verdict by then Justice Faez Isa and a fellow judge that pointed fingers at powerful military establishment as the force behind the protest to destabilise the civilian government. Only recently Justice Isa became Chief Justice and fixed for hearing numerous petitions challenging the verdict filed by government agencies and the intelligence agencies four years ago.
