About six electricity distribution companies have challenged Lahore High Court decision which stopped the companies from collection about 40 billion rupees in the name of Fuel Adjustment Price (FAP) from consumers in Punjab province. The consumers were to pay Rs 40 billion rupees for the period of February, March, April, May, June and July 2022 which the Lahore High Court declared as illegal being determined without due process of law. Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa refused to adjourn the matter so that Attorney General could himself appear on the case and directed Additional Attorney General Amir Rehman to represent the federation in the matter.
