Pakistan’s Supreme Court verdict on Thursday directed action against country’s top property tycoon Malik Riaz who had failed to pay Rs 460 billion agreed amount as per a four years old apex court verdict. In March 2019 the apex court had stopped the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting and prosecuting Malik Riaz after he agreed to pay the above amount for the precious land he had illegally acquired from provincial government at throw away price. The Thursday verdict said Riaz had apparently defaulted and hence the NAB can proceed as per the past order. #MJtv explains the latest verdict and its background.
