Six judges of Pakistan’s Supreme Court have suspended a verdict by their 5 fellow judges allowing military trial of 104 civilian activists of Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf on charges of attacking military installations on 09 May 23. Earlier a five judges bench of the apex court had declared as unconstitutional military trial of civilians and had scrapped the relevant military laws from the statute book. The government challenged the verdict under a newly passed law by parliament wherein a right to appeal was granted against decisions of the apex court rendered in direct exercise of extraordinary human rights jurisdiction. #MJtv gives details of the arguments made during the hearing and the final order.
