After enjoying a stay order for 4 years to retain his seat in National Assembly, former deputy speaker Qasim Suri today asked the apex court to allow him withdraw his appeal against his disqualification by election tribunal. Advocate Naeem Bukhari representing Suri was confronted with barrage of questions by three judges bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa who said this seemed to be a matter of manipulation of judicial process for 4 years. The bench issued notice to Qasim Suri and registrar of Supreme Court to appear in person and state how the stay order granted by Justice Bandiyal got extended for 4 years without a decision in an election matter. After the hearing #MJtv questioned Suri’s lawyer about the court remarks that this seemed to have been a case of manipulation of judicial process to which the advocate reacted angrily.
