Two important developments in Supreme Court of Pakistan made headlines today. Top judges keep government’s sword on journos head till after election. This was a case apex court taking direct notice of inquires announced against over 40 journos who had allegedly ridiculed top judges and their verdict.
In another development three judges of the Supreme Court have released a detailed verdict wherein while allowing an election candidate to contest the elections they declared that judges should interpret election laws to ensure voters right to chose from among the candidate and not to restrict it. Many see this as a defiance of another three judges bench order that deprived main political party PTI of its election symbol- cricket bat. #MJtv talks to fellow court reporter Hasnat Malik about today’s court stories.
