Judge Hamayun Dilawar of special court in Islamabad today deferred a decision on release-on-bail application by a journalist/Vlogger Asad Toor because the investigating police official fell sick and had gone to a local hospital. As a result of this the journalist Asad Toor will now have to spend four more days in jail as a co sequence of the judge’s decision to defer the hearing. All this happened two days after Attorney General for Pakistan Barrister Mansur Usman Awan revealed before Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa led Supreme Court bench that the charges against Asad Toor were wrongly slapped. The chief justice too had declared that the government seemed to be using shoulders of the judiciary to prosecute and persecute journalists in Pakistan.
