Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Amir Farooq today heard bail petition of jailed journalist/Vlogger Asad Toor. Toor’s lawyer Advocate Imaan Mazari argued the case. She read out an apex court order wherein Attorney General Barrister Mansur Usman Awan admitted before a Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa that the sections of law applied in the case against journalist Asad Toor were wrongly invoked by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Chief Justice Amir Farooq observed that the grievance could be addressed on administrative side and adjourned the hearing. Later the court office announced that trial court judge Hamayun Dilawar has been directed by the Islamabad High Court chief justice that Asad Toor’s bail application be heard and decided tomorrow (Saturday).
