Senior journalist and anchorperson Hamid Mir today appeared before Chief Justice Islamabad High Court seeking a judicial probe into two years old murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif. Accompanied by other senior journalists and prominent anchorpersons Mir asked the Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq that the government had failed to make any progress in finding killers of Arshad Sharif who was assassinated in Kenya. The high court office has objected to filing of the writ petition on the grounds that the matter was being examined by the Supreme Court along with other cases of journalists. Mir’s lawyer said the Supreme Court was examining the matter through a different angle and no request for a judicial probe was pending before the apex court. Chief Justice over ruled the objections but asked for filing of Supreme Court record to ascertain if the apex court was also looking at the case from the same angle or not.
