The most dangerous case against former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is the allegation of national security breach. Khan along with his foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi have been respectively sentenced to 10 and 7 years imprisonment for disclosing a secret diplomatic cable in a public rally. The cable written by Pakistan’s then ambassador in Washington Abid Majeed had revealed of a US diplomat Donald Lu warning of consequences in case the then prime minister Khan was not dislodged from office in a no-confidence move tabled by the then opposition. The Islamabad High Court two judges bench today resumed hearing of appeals against the conviction amid a day old ban by media regulatory authority on reporting about remarks of judges and arguments of lawyers.

#MJtv Matiullah Jan reports about what happened in the court room today as prosecution lawyer pleaded the court not to finally decide the appeals on merit. He argued that the trial be allowed to be restarted if the court believes that the earlier process was not fair.
