In a surprise move Justice Athar Minallah of Supreme Court of Pakistan today distanced himself from contempt of court proceedings against TV channels. The proceedings were initiated against two parliamentarians and 34 TV channels who aired live contemptuous press conference by the former. Chief Justice led three judges bench had started the proceedings apparently because of the contemptuous remarks against judges including Justice Athar Minallah.
