PTI leader advocate Salman Akram Raja has strongly opposed appointment of retired high court judges as election tribunal amid reports that parliament was about to pass a law in this regard. He was talking to #MJtv after a Supreme Court hearing wherein chief justice Qazi Faez Isa led 5 judges bench suspended a Lahore High Court judgement that notified high court judges as election tribunals. Election Commission of Pakistan, which is under fire for alleged mass rigging allegations in 2024 elections, had challenged high court verdict before Supreme Court saying only the commission could appointment of tribunals.
