Matiullah Jan #MJtv discusses three important developments for today.

After a lingering controversy over appointment of adhoc judges to the Supreme Court the Judicial Commission of Pakistan has finally approved names of 2 judges, one of which also withdrew his consent at the last moment.

The Election Commission of Pakistan was directed by the apex court of the country to allocate special seats to Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) in the national and provincial assemblies. The commission after 2nd day of deliberations today announced that it has decided to implement the apex court verdict but after some legal clarification.

On the third development Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Alia Neelum has decided to stick to earlier 8 nominations made by her predecessor for appointment as Election Tribunal judges hearing complaints of rigging and irregularities in 08 Feb 24 general elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan is before Supreme Court claiming that it had the final authority to make such appointments and not the chief Justice of a high court.
