In a severe blow to the land mafia and illegal business owners Pakistan’s Supreme Court has declared as illegal billions of rupees worth of structures in the protected Margallah Hills national park area within the territorial limits of federal capital Islamabad and Khyber Pukhtunkhawa province. Acting on two contempt of court petitions for alleged violations of a two months old Supreme Court judgement in this regard Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa initiated contempt of court proceedings against owner of illegally constructed biggest restaurant Monal for misleading the public to believe that hundreds of employees lost their jobs due to apex court verdict whereas the verdict was delivered after the restaurant owner voluntarily agreed in the court to dismantle the business structure being illegal. The order also records federal government’s withdrawal of two notifications that allegedly violated the apex court judgement.
