Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan of Pakistan’s Supreme Court in a written order have apparently allowed country’s intelligence agencies to continue illegal phone tapping of citizens. The apex court has suspended an Islamabad High Court order by Justice Babar Sattar which required prime minister to submit a detailed report over revelations about an illegal and so called “Lawful Intercept Management System” secretly run by the government. In the meantime the high court had suspended all such illegal interception of citizens phones. The federal government hurriedly appealed against the order before the Supreme Court which suspended the high court order.
