After months of denial of his interest in getting job extension through a constitutional amendment Pakistan’s Chief Qazi Faez Isa today officially rejected news reports that he had formally rejected such a possibility. Yesterday’s news reports suggested that the judge told journalists in an informal conversation that he would not accept such a job extension. A secretary to Chief Justice today issued a press release hours after ruling coalition parties met to consider a constitutional amendment which among other drastic changes will extend tenure of all superior court judges by three years.
