Pakistan’s Supreme Court is hosting a political dialogue among political parties for a consensus on an election date for whole of the country. Earlier the apex court had declared that elections be held in the country’s largest Punjab province which was opposed by the ruling coalition. A three judges bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandiyal today (Thursday) conducted an unusual proceeding wherein senior leadership of all political parties one by one endorsed the proposed political dialogue under the apex court but sought time till after Eid vacations. The chief justice said the the verdict about 14th May polls in Punjab remains in the field until their is an agreement among the political parties on a date when elections could be held across Pakistan.
