On 02 May 2023 eight judges of Pakistan’s Supreme Court hold a controversial hearing to examine a parliamentary legislation which reduces administrative powers of the chief justice of Pakistan. 12 years ago US special forces raided Pakistani city of ABBOTTABAD and killed Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden. A judicial commission constituted to probe into an apparent failure of defense forces to prevent it apparently failed to do its job and the commission report was never made public. In another 02 May today the top judges of the apex court are likely to add to the raging battle between parliament and judiciary after a law passed by the parliament was suspended by the apex court. The court is accused by the parliament of being run through the one man show of chief justice who exercised his administrative powers to trump the constitutional powers of the court by constituting benches of his own choice and taking up political cases of his own liking.
