Supreme Court promotes PTI through prolonged hearings against amendments in accountability law

Watch now – Video Duration: 00:33:44 (hh:mm:ss)

The amendments made in infamous anti corruption law by previous government of prime minister Shahbaz Sharif have come under strict scrutiny of three judges led by an estranged and outgoing Chief Justice Umer Ata Bandiyal. After over 50 hearings for over a year the judges are questioning the intention of an already dissolved parliament dominated by the previous government, a rival to jailed former prime minister Imran Khan. The amendments if declared illegal by the apex court may lead to reopening of many corruption cases against rivals of Imran Khan who the retiring chief justice and his family members are accused of supporting.
