Pakistan’s top judge Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa today received prime minister Shahbaz Sharif at the apex court building and agreed to a proposed inquiry commission to probe into allegations of intimidation, blackmailing and secret video recording by the country’s intelligence agencies. Chief Justice Faez Isa who is internationally recognised for his heroic legal battle to resist his removal from office a few years ago apparently avoided exercising apex court’s human rights powers to hold the government accountable, the powers he himself had invoked as petitioner to save his job. #MJtv discusses in detail the pros and cons of the government proposed constitution of an inquiry commission.
